DWTS Season 13 Winners!

What a season! Would anyone have predicted that relative unknown J.R. Martinez would be such an amazing dancer? It was touch and go for J.R. over the last few weeks of competition, and he flubbed the first dance of the week. He was able to come back strong, however. Karina Smirnoff looked thrilled to win her first mirror ball trophy.

Runner-up Rob danced a perfect samba in the final round, and third place finisher Ricki also got a perfect score for her round one tango.

In the first round the contestants were asked to dance their favorite routines of the season. Rob and Cheryl chose to perform their elegant foxtrot from the third week and finished third. J.R. and Karina went with their jumping jive from week two to place second. Ricki and Derek reprised their "Psycho" tango from the fourth week of competition, which Bruno called "unforgettable," and placed first. Unfortunately, that perfect 30 still didn't give Ricki enough of a boost to make it to the final round of competition. The crowd gave Ricki a standing ovation as she said goodbye.

After quite a bit of filler – man, Ron Artest/Metta World Peace can't dance – we were treated to dueling "instant" sambas from Rob and J.R. The stars had less than an hour to prepare routines to Ricky's Martin's "Shake Your Bon-Bon." J.R. and Karina were up first, and danced a sexy, slightly tongue-in-cheek samba. The choreography was tough, but J.R. did a good job. He was still a bit stiff through the knees. Rob and Cheryl took a silly rather than sexy approach to the dance. Rob did an amazing job keeping up with Cheryl, and pulled off some great spins. The judges had nothing but praise in this round, and awarded both couples perfect scores.

This brought the point total to a narrow one-point difference in Rob's favor, which meant the audience had the final say. You love J.R.? Who can blame you?
